Fitness Move of the Week: Ab Exercises

by | Sep 1, 2015 | Last updated Mar 16, 2023

Abs are a bit of an infamous muscle group in the fitness world. Everyone wants them and thinks they represent the epitome of fitness, but they are, in fact, very difficult to attain. All abdominal muscles are built differently, so expecting a perfect-looking six-pack is a difficult goal.

But fear not: visible abs ARE attainable – but not important. What’s more important is simply having a strong core. A solid core doesn’t just help you during lifts: it minimizes back pain, helps with balance and posture, and aids in a multitude of everyday tasks, like tying your shoes or sitting in an office chair.

It’s important to engage your core during all physical activities (as often as you can remember) to stay stabilized. In order to do so, you need to build up a strong core. We’ve rounded up 4 of the best beginner ab circuits from YouTube to help you build the best core you can. Check it out!
